Note:
Too coarsely ground coffee is watery and often bitter, while too finely ground coffee is overly acidic. The simplest way to adjust how your coffee tastes is to grind it finer; try grinding by hand or in a burr grinder if you’re not sure what Grind Size to choose. The most common cause of overly bitter coffee is too fine a grind. Coffee that is ground more coarsely has more time to extract flavor (puncturing the beans, just like a lemon) and thus does not end up tasting bitter as much as highly broken-down coffee does. Select the right size of grind for your brew. This will affect how your beans are prepared, and therefore how it tastes. It is recommended to select a grind size that fits your preference, but it is still important to consider the specs of the blend. In general, the larger the grind size is, the longer it takes for water to pass through. This means more oxygen will be released in roasted beans, which enhances their flavor and aroma. However, too large of a grind may not allow enough water through for extraction. This can lead to an uneven extraction process which can make your coffee bitter or spongy. People will have different opinions and tastes, So choose wisely!
